i am going to be a freshie at cals under the bio sci major. i see i have to choose a program of study....now would this be equivalent to doing a minor?...i am confused about the whole minor concept......
can someone explain

It's not a minor. It's a "concentration." Every bio major must choose a specific concentration in biology (genetics, microbiolgy, molecular/cell biology, etc.) by their sophomore year.

whats the downside of choosing general bio as ur program of study? is it looked down upon, because u begin to choose courses from several other program of studies, and so u r a bit scattered?

There's no downside although I have yet to actually meet anyone with general bio as their concentration. I suppose if you can't find a specific area of bio that you're interested in, you can concentrate in general bio.

and is there a site that shows minors- courses and requirements- for CALS? all i see is majors and program of studies
