How many freshman usually get admitted in each major?

I mean YES-W invited 100-120 students in the sciences. How many more do they usually accept in the science department as a whole?

Yale doesn’t admit by major. All freshmen enter Yale College as undecided. Students typically declare their majors in sophomore year.

I’m certain the invited YES-W students were chosen based on science extra-curriculars and/or getting letters of recommendations from science teachers which said these students had particular talent. The correlation between stated major on the application and eventual major is very poor and Yale knows this. Just because Yale has an interest in recruiting science students should not make applicants think they have a leg up on the process by showing a generally rigorous academic schedule and saying they want to be a science major.
