major options. help!

Hello, I am a third year undergraduate student at University of California, Berkeley, looking into either i-banking or consulting. My ultimate goal is to become involved in the energy/alternative energy sector.

Until last semester (first semester of junior year) I had been a biology major, but after taking a finance class, I have gained much more interest in finance. Because I was unable to apply as an Econ major, I have to choose between Political Economy and Environmental Economics. I will also be minoring in Mathematics.

However, the dilemma is in that while I want to major in Environmental Economics, I have come across some replies in other forums that have been telling me to go for Political Economy instead, as Environmental Econ is seen as a slacker's major. I need more inputs from you guys, Environmental Econ or Political Economy? I am willing to switch major to PE if it would give me an edge in finding internships/post-grad jobs.

Thanks

IMO, either would work for energy/cleantech. If you can’t decide I would go with the more repected degree and plan on entering the energy market and define your career by experience rather than by degree.
