I recently bought software from Best buy for SAT and the ACT. The Software is superb, but the weird part is when it comes to the scores. My SAT scores, total, was about a 1750 combined, but my ACT score was a 33. Would it hurt if this is the case on my application for college? In other words, would the colleges ignore the SAT and focus in on the ACT? Thx

Just take the ACT for real and don't take the SAT. (The only school that now only takes the SAT apparently is Harvey Mudd.) Problem (or potential problem) solved. Why would you want to take the test where you don't do as well?

If you still want to take both tests for real, find out if your school reports the test scores to colleges. Yes, you have to send official score reports, but some high schools apparently put the scores on what they send to colleges as well. If so, take both tests but don't put down your high school, so it won't get the scores. Then when you apply to college, you can go with the test where you scored better.
