Major Question

Is it possible/ easy to switch from a undecided major in the school of arts and sciences to the school of engineering? I am currently leaning toward an econ or history major, but also kind of am considering engineering and don't know which school to put down on my application...help?

Yes. Just requires you to fill out a form.

The university will absolutely let you do that. You just have to go fill out a short form to declare your new major when you decide to go the engineering route. They make it relatively easy (much more so than a lot of other universities). One of the great things about Hopkins is that there’s very little red tape when you’re deciding your course of study.

If you’re thinking about switching into engineering, you might want to sign up for a couple of math or engineering related courses when you first get there. That will help you to see if that’s really something you want to do and it will make it a little bit easier to schedule your classes later on if you do become an engineering student.
