major question

Does say, intending to major in biology affect one's chances of getting into an university? and that's if one has a Okay GPA, but not the best one?

I highly doubt it. The reason is that many students will change their major at least once during their undergraduate years. As a result, the intended major of a student is not a factor (or at most a very tiny factor) in admissions.
