Hello, im an accepted student at Georgia Tech for the class of 2017.

Right now I am unsure if I want to go to Medical School or do Masters/MBA after my undergrad.

However due to job stability reasons ( incase i dont get into Medical School), I want to pursue engineering.

Can someone give me insight into the workloads, and their opinions on the professors, classes, and grading for these majors, which I am trying to choose from: BME or EE.

Is BME marketable just after undergrad like EE is? in 4 years how much will it change? Can any juniors or seniors give insight into recruiting in these majors, and undergraduate research opportunities, internships over the summer?

I know majoring in engineering will damage my gpa, however my strengths tend to lie around in the areas of math and science anyway. How difficult is it to obtain a 3.7/3.8+ in these majors, I'm prepared to work my ass of day and night.

Hey, I just finished talking to my uncle who is a Biomedical Engineer, and I have decided that I want to pursue BME at Tech! It completely fascinates me and I am deeply interested in doing it.

I was accepted for ChemE at Tech, is it possible for me to switch into BME? What is the processes for doing so?

I would like to switch to BME before my first day at Tech this fall.

Thank you soo much!!! I’m stuck between BioMedical Engineering and Electrical Engineering. Can you give some insights of why you picked BioMedical Engineering?

My DS was admitted to GT last year and he went as BME. This sem he has switched to EE after talking to seniors and counselors of EE/CompE/BME/Undecided dept. I think its the perception of BME degree as undergrad student. Also, you can do minor in BME OR you can take a biotech/biomed stream in EE. There are several options available. You can also do a masters in BME after doing undergrad in EE. Anyway, he has made up his mind as of now.

Thanks @mwahal. I decided that I want to do EE because I’m more of a math person and I don’t seem to like Bio that much. I might pursue BME on the future or do a minor like you were saying.
