Major Requirements => Transfer question..

Quick question, I'm currently enrolled at a California Community College and I've always been a bit confused on this issue: do you have to complete ALL of the lower division major requirements in order to transfer? Does it improve your chances of being accepted at a particular school?

In my case, I plan on getting my Bachelors' in Accounting, but I also want to take prerequisites for Physical Therapy school. I will be able to complete the majority of my Accounting lower division requirements by the time of transfer except an Economics class and Calculus, but my IGETC will be complete.

Will not having all my lower-division major requirements hinder me, or could I just take the remaining at the university?

Thanks in advance, I really appreciate the help!

You should really try to get all of them done. One missing won’t hurt, because you could do it over the summer or in your first quarter/semester, but it does put you at a great disadvantage compared to other transfers to have more than one pre-req missing, I think.

From your major, I would think if you were denied admission it would be precisely because of that missing Calculus class. Try to get it done ASAP.

Thank you for the quick reply, I’ll find a way to give those classes most priority then. There’s a few classes I could cherry pick that aren’t towards my major that I can take at the university.
