Major Rutgers

Admitted to SAS as transfer student and welll I am at a crossroad. I love asian culture. I absolutely admire it. Rutgers has a major in Asian studies and it interests me so much. But will I be able to get a job with that or shoudl I continue to major in Economics. I want a job that has a lot of traveling, cultural researching and well growth and decent to great pay. Can I achieve that with an Asian Studies major. I just am at a loss. Can anyone give me advice?

If I’m not mistaken, I believe Rutgers only offers Asian studies as a MINOR, not MAJOR.

Simply, you can MAJOR in Economics and MINOR in Asian Studies, since you are required to have at least one major and one minor/or double major for SAS at Rutgers.

Yeah, there’s only a minor in Asian Studies ([Asian Languages and Cultures](http://asianstudies.rutgers.edu/programs/index.html)). However, you can major in an Asian language like Chinese, Japanese, or Korean.

do what mushaboom said. also, if there were an asian studies major, why couldn’t you just do both and double-major? economics is supposed to be one of the easier majors at rutgers since lots of people do it (not quite as often as people major in psych though) so it wouldn’t have been too difficult. not too big of a conundrum.
