Major Selection

Hey so this is my first post so apologies if I post in the wrong Forum.

Anyways, I am going to a community college, and it is probably a good thing too. I have been switching around college majors. I started off in Business Administration, then Economics, though about Psychology then switched to Communications. But History has always been my favorite subject.

I have been choosing a major pretty much by how much money I will statistically make and what kind of jobs I could get from these majors. Yet, have I been going about this all wrong? Universities were not set up originally to provide transferable skills to the work force, they were founded for the support of higher learning correct? Should I major in History because I love it and wish to engage in a higher level of learning relating to that subject? Rebuff at everyone that tells me otherwise and to keep my head in the clouds?

In hopes to answer my question I approached my career center, and almost all the assessments that I took told me to major in some sort of arts. Now here is the kicker, I want to be an Entrepreneur. As I facepalmed in the center of the office at my very life, I though "hey these actually are not that different of professions." Both, in a sense, create something out of nothing correct? Entrepreneurs could be considered an artist in a degree. Many places suggest that entrepreneurs do not even need a degree to start a business, but just in case my dreams do not work out, I think it would not hurt to have one. Should I pursue my love of History or switch back to Business to help what I want to do with my life? Or should I do another switch to an art degree to help with my creativity for future products?

I guess the reason why I am here is to ask what you guys think about my situation, I have just given the time to write out my dilemma of the past few months, I would just like to see what you guys suggest.
