Major Specific Questions

I was recently admitted to Pitt as an English Writing major. From viewing their web page, I can tell that the writing faculty are both decorated and highly experienced, which is very attractive. But, still, I can’t find a lot of quality information about the major. I’m looking at a lot of other schools that have what seem to be a lot stronger writing programs/departments, but I want to make sure I have all the information I can get about Pitt before making a decision in the future.

Who should I contact if I’m seeking more information? I feel like I’ve bothered the admissions office enough over the past month. I just want enough information about the program to decide if Pitt is really it.

If you schedule a visit you can make an appointment with someone within the department and have an in depth conversation. We did this with the Communications Science and Disorders Undergraduate Advisor and felt were were very well received. I would like to think the English department would be as welcoming. You can email the department head to inquire about an appointment. If you can’t do it face to face, perhaps they can schedule a phone appointment? Good luck to you.

@flashk thank you!
