Major w/2minors

I am seriously considering attending WUSTL but I have one question. I know that its easy to 2x major/majorminor at WUSTL but currently I want to pursue a BA/BS in Chemistry/Biochem with a plan to do pre-med while minoring in both Spanish and Chinese. I'm confident I can place out of intro classes for Chinese and I got a five on both AP tests if that means anything. I'm also doing IB Spanish B SL and am wondering how difficult do the classes at WUSTL compare to the IB. Thanks

I am also a biochem major (not premed) and was considering double minoring. I ended up only doing one so that I could take more electives that relate to my major. Language minors are usually a bit larger than others, but it should be possible–especially if you have a good foundation in the two. I never did IB so I cannot compare the two; however, as a general rule, classes at WashU are very difficult and I have never heard of anyone that thought a high school class was easier or even close to the caliber of classes that they take at WashU.

Also, WashU does not offer a B.S. in chem/biochem. However, you can do ACS certification which is regarded basically the same as a B.S. Don’t get me wrong, a B.A. from WashU in chem is still well respected in the grad school/job system.

Thanks, anyone else have something to say?

there are definitely classes with reputations of being easy. just probably not in the OP’s intended areas of study.

I forgot to mention I got a 5 on my HSK (revised so out of 6 not 11) if that means anything.

S is a soph- pre-med but majoring in Lat Am studies with minors in biology (so he doesn’t have to take ecology etc which are required for major) and public health. The LA major came as a complete shock- but this is what happens when you get an outstanding prof your freshman year who opens you to new ideas. He has to take a LOT of Spanish and has a very demanding schedule. Yes, doable. WUSTL is a very tough school- he works hard, but has a good social life too.
