Major

What is the best major for me? I really like planes and want to go to med school? is aeronautical or mechanical engineering too difficult a pre-med major?

Gee…we get to pick YOUR major? jk

Ok…tell us more about yourself…

what kind of stats do you have (GPA and test scores). If you don’t have excellent stats, I’m concerned that either major will result in too low of a GPA for you and med schools.

How strong are you in math?

What colleges are you considering?

haha, i’m just looking for suggestions, i’m pretty sure i know what i want to do but i want to know what others suggest and compare. My high school GPA was 3.4.
i’m about to start community college.
Not sure where i want to transfer but i like UCSD, UCLA and UCB.
Nothing is set in stone.

If your high school GPA is a 3.4, then I would NOT suggest that you major in engineering unless you want to be an engineer.

I would only recommend that someone major in engineering as a pre-med student if they have high test scores, took a very rigorous high school curriculum, and had a very high GPA.

Kids with A/B high school GPAs that go into engineering typically do not have 3.7+ GPAs in college.
