Majoring in business?

Lately I have been hearing a lot about majoring in business being a bad idea. Not accounting but more like business administration and business management. Is it? what do you think? Will majoring in business management be a bad idea sense it a common degree?

I think you’re better off with something more focused, like accounting. When it’s general business administration, you don’t have a specialization. But you are acquiring a variety of business skills, maybe at only an intermediate level. If you specialize in say, accounting, you’ll know much more about accounting than those in business administration. Also, if you do have a specialization, there’s still room in the major to take other business electives. I’m not a business major, but it seems smarter to get a specialization for the sake of employment after undergrad. If you like general business, you can always minor in that and major in something else.
