I’m average at math and I’ve had little experience with computer science, I’m worried that Berkely will be too much for me and that I won’t be able to declare my major as CS. So I’m conflicted about whether or not I should attend UC Santa Cruz where I’ve been accepted as a computer science major.
If UCB did not think you would academically do well, then they would have not accepted you in the first place. If your Math skills need some brushing up, between now and the start of school is good time to work on it.
Best of luck.
not sure i read your situation correctly -
If you are a freshman admitted to a science/engineering program at UCB, you’ve done something to demonstrate your competence in math (like SAT, AP test, etc) and shouldn’t worry about that. If you don’t like the school, or simply prefer UCSC, then go there and kick butt.
