Majoring in Petroleum Engineering with a concentration in ChemE

Hey Guys!

I am a junior in High School and looking at colleges for Petroleum Engineering!
I have a high GPA of 4.45 and pretty decent SAT scores, am an Eagle Scout, in NHS, and more extracurricular activities.

I've been looking at PSU, WVU, Marietta College, Oklahoma University, Texas Tech, UT, Texas A&M, Kansas University, and Colorado School of Mines. Are these all good Petro schools?

What is the possibility of majoring in Petroleum engineering with a minor or concentration in ChemE since I look Chemistry but love the aspect of the Oil and Gas industry.

Do schools offer this?

Like JessDD said you could probably minor is ChemE on your own at maybe all of those places if you do it right. Many schools do not have Petroleum Engineering, but the ones that do typically have good programs and often have graduates employed right out of school.
As for which one? If your research brings you to a point where you are torn between some of those school, just remember Colorado School of Mines is in Golden which is (in my opinion) a beautiful area (I’ve visted the campus, its quite nice) and for me at least is in a better location than any of the other schools. Its all up to you though. Good Luck
