I'm applying for colleges and my main plan is to major in theater (more straight theater rather than musical) but there are other things that interest me as well. I guess my question would be; would it be possible to major in theater and minor in something kind of unrelated like archeaology?

depends on the school and the program. In a BFA program at most universities, no. In a BA program at most universities, absolutely. There are always those exceptions where you can do it in a BFA program or you can’t do it in a BA program.

I’m going to USC for BA Theatre and they encourage minors and even double majors. I’m currently trying to figure out if I would be able to do one of each (double major in Theatre and Journalism w/ MT minor).

I know at NYU it is possible (BFA), but will be hard with all the work.

My daughter who goes to NYU is a Tisch Drama Major and a History Minor. It can be done and yes it is a lot of work.

My son graduated with a BFA from NYU Drama Major (Tisch) with an Art History minor.
