Majoring Out of Another College?

I got into Pitzer for the class of 2021, and I am wondering how exactly majoring outside of your college works? Like, if I wanted to take PPE (Philosophy, Politics, and Economics) out of Pomona or CMC, [how] could I do it? Would it be difficult?

I read on the website that in the second semester of your freshman year, and for the entirety of your sophomore year, you can only take 1 class outside of Pitzer and that in your junior and senior years, up to half your classes can be at the other Claremont colleges. How strictly are these rule enforced?

Majoring at one of the other Claremont Colleges is very easy and welcomed by Pitzer. You will take your general education classes at Pitzer and then the rest you can take at your other Claremont College where you are majoring. I graduated from Pitzer, but majored in Music at Pomona College.

@mammish Out of curiosity, how did that work in terms of the conferred degree? Did Pitzer give you a degree in Music even though it wasn’t their major or did Pomona even though you weren’t their student?
