I am applying to be a nursing major at the University of Delaware. because of my SAT scores, I am not highly confident that I would get into the nursing program.

On the common app under UD, there is a place where it asks my second choice major. If I put Biological Sciences down, and I don't get into the college of nursing, would I then be admitted to being a biological science major?

Please explain. Thank you!

Hi @augatib , typically you are reviewed for your first choice major, then your second choice major, so if it seemed that you would be a good candidate for biological sciences then you would be accepted to that (provided that you are not accepted for a nursing major). If it does not seem that you would be a strong applicant for bio-sci either then you might be looking at a denial letter. I’m not sure if you can then be reviewed for undecided if you don’t get your 2 choices, but it’s probably something they think about when looking at apps.
