I want to major in anthropology, but CMC doesn't offer it. However, I have heard that it is possible to major at a different school in the consortium but still attend CMC...is this true? I'm sorry if this is a really stupid question.

The short answer is YES. From the CMC catalog:
source page 40: http://www.claremontmckenna.edu/admission/catalog/2009-2010/academic_policies.pdf

Read on in the catalog to further figure out how this works.

So, for anthropology, you’ve got choices at
Pomona [Pomona College](http://www.anthropology.pomona.edu/)
Scripps [Scripps College : Academics : Anthropology Department](http://www.scrippscollege.edu/academics/department/anthropology/index.php)
or Pitzer [Pitzer College | Anthropology](http://www.pitzer.edu/academics/field_groups/anthropology/index.asp)

thanks so much!! the links are very helpful

I’m a student at CMC and you can major off campus but it does require some work with the registrar. However there are restrictions on how many classes you can take off campus (just one) as a freshman which you should keep in mind
