Majorless

Well it sounds like the financial pressures are not immediate, and that some of the pressure is coming from you. Admirable, but maybe give yourself a break for now.

You consistently say you want to do psychology, with education. Not sure how those are combined. Teaching is an excellent way to go. You could do Teach for American when you graduate and see how you like it.

I strongly urge you to pursue psychology, with or without another major or minor. It is what you want, and doing what you want can often lead somewhere much better than doing what you “should.”

I don’t know if you are at all interested in alternative or “holistic” psychology. Tai Ji, acupuncture, herbs, Reiki, hypnosis, medititaion, EMDR, tapping , energy work, expressive therapies, and all kinds of other “modalities” are being used these days. Lesley U. in Cambridge Mass, has a great program in this, undergrad and grad, in this.

In any case, I say go for it. Your college major does NOT have to match your career, and a BA or BS in psychology will give you access to jobs or school programs that will help lead you forward. Good luck!

AFTER majoring in psychology in college - I went to a “trade school” after college to learn computer programming. This was like a million years ago…But it has served me well.

Business (Which though? International?)
Economics
Linguistics
Psychology combined with Education
International Relations/Affairs
Criminal Justice
Human Services

Okay. I cut down my choices.
