can anyone please comment on the english dept/faculty at mcgill? any thoughts on political science or the business faculty?</p>
<p>I suppose English and Poli-Sci are acceptable. They are definitely not the worst department around. Business-management is overrated at McGill, the demand is artificially high because of artificially high requirements. Everyone knows that management is the easiest major in the university and it’s the most difficult major to transfer into. Why? the university don’t want people to say " fu*k my program, i’m switching to management". Lots of people will do that especially after U1.</p>
<p>So you basically end up with really brilliant people who qualify for a transfer but would not do so because they like their original program or people who are almost dropping out who would get a transfer base on ‘humanitarian’ reasons. If you’re somewhere in between, there is no chance in hell to switch to a B.Com.</p>
<p>If you’re looking for a business degree, try Queen’s or York. McGill is not the best place to do it. Heck even Concordia has a better business program.</p>
