Majors between colleges

How would majoring (or minoring) in Biology with (for example) a program of study in Insect Biology*, or in Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, be different for a student in CAS vs. one in ALS? (I was accepted to CAS).

*is this the same as a major in Entomology?

I couldn't find an overall description of the procedures for taking classes at colleges other than your own, about transferring, or about how the multiple-college majors work.

thanks

The only difference between a Bio major in CAS and a Bio major in CALS is the graduation requirements. CAS grad requirements are liberal arts based and CALS grad requirements are science/math/humanities based.

Not sure what you mean… is it that the CAS program would be more theoretical?

the overall CAS education is modeled after a “liberal arts” curriculum, so your core classes would be distributed to a wider variety of subjects, whereas CALS is more focused on the sciences

Oh, are you referring to the graduation requirements that aren’t associated with the specific major?

Yes…I was :)
