Any thoughts on some undergraduate major/minor combos for a student considering law school later?

I'm fairly sure you can major in anything you want. Anything will work just fine.

Thanks, I know you can. I am looking for some ideas of potential combinations from students who might be thinking of law and have already declared majors.

I think what Fresh Elephant was trying to say is that it really doesn't matter what you choose - nothing really prepares you that much better for law school. Just choose something you are passionate about and do well. For med school, you can also major in anything, but obviously it's advantageous (and required) to take many courses in biology, etc. Law schools don't really have the same strict requirements. I know former engineering majors in law school (mostly patent law), pub pol, English, history, math, poly sci, cul anth, spanish, econ, chemistry, physics, and more. So, yes, really, anything. Some courses might be helpful depending on what kind of law you want to go into. e.g. patent law -> engineering; tax law -> take some accounting courses. Also, taking a law course as an undergrad might be helpful. Chemerinsky's constitutional law class is very popular, but he might no longer be around as he's has been hired as the Dean at UC-Irvine - but classes don't begin until fall 2009 there...

I might apply to law school and I'm a MechE major.

I'm PubPol w/ a Psych minor, and plan on going to law school.
...and our names are freakishly similar, btw ;-)

Law School and Math?

What do I know though?
I'm still a freshman!

Thanks for the responses!
