Hi Everyone. I have a question. What is the best major to have to join the CIA or FBI? My original major was in Communications Arts but my GPA 2.92. I know bad. Any suggestions or thoughts?
Criminal Justice?
Accounting? Follow the money…
Computer science or languages ie Russian, Spanish, Chinese , Arabic
For CIA literally anything. For FBI computer science and critical language skills are in demand, but they look for people of all backgrounds and majors.
I would not recommend criminal justice. Most law enforcement agencies don’t think too highly of the major.
It’s not like it’s a secret. You can google the job listings for CIA and FBI and they tell you the preferred degrees. The FBI likes computer science, accounting, languages and law degrees.
the best way to get into the FBI is through the marines… and literally you could do anything. CIA usually recruits through the Air Force or Navy. Remember, these agencies fight wars, so war fighting experience is always a good thing. Go ROTC, it will increase your chances. Although, I really wouldn’t suggest gaining war experience. They promote a decent compensation package, but you’re constantly being degraded and remember… theres a huge chance you could die. You could always try and get a job in the labs if you’re a STEM geek, theres less of a chance you’ll be shot at. Keep in mind the Oklahoma City bombing… you’ll potentially be working in places like these. I’d pick something much safer if I were you… just my opinion.
