I know this question has been asked pretty often. I'm unsure of what to major in before medical school, I'm interested in biology, but I know that if I don't get into Med. School I won't be able to do much with this degree. What do you suggest I major in?

Does a Biochemistry major have better scope in the market if I don’t get into Medical School?

Biology and biochemistry are more or less equally useless. Chemistry is only slightly better, but not by much. Physics has poor prospects, from what I hear. All of these will pretty much relegate you to bottom-of-the-barrel lab monkey gigs at the bachelor’s level. A Master’s can help prospects a little. Biosciences are oversaturated at the PhD level, making things difficult for bio-related PhD grads. Obviously, I’m generalizing here, but in terms of finding a decent job with only a bachelor’s: don’t major in science.

Here’s a thread discussing pre-med majors:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/pre-med-topics/214387-what-should-premed-major.html

If you want a major that has better than average job potential consider applied mathematics & statistics.

Biology, biochemistry and chemistry all have poor employment prospects at the BA/BS level. Employment at the MS or PhD level is not a whole lot better.
