Majors for Top Medical School

I've posted this before in the College Search section, but I haven't received many responses. So, just to be clear I'm posting my question again here.

Do top medical schools accept double majors in computer science and economics? I have been told that they do. That the major does not necessarily have to be a science major, although I need to take some science classes. Science majors are mainly required for grad school.

Is this true?

Also, if I wanted to be a plastic surgeon, what advice would you give me in terms of med school selection?

Thanks a lot!!

Also, would I be put at a disadvantage in the admissions process if I would apply with non-traditional-science majors even though I would complete all of the science requirements?

It would probably be best to post in the "Pre-Med Topics" section.

But yes, medical schools accept people with all sorts of majors, not just traditional science majors. Statistics show that various majors all have approximately the same acceptance rates into medical schools.

There are several current medical students on the premed board, and they will be happy to answer any other questions you have.

ok, thanks for the info!
