for a male who will be in wharton for undergrad what majors would you recommend?

i don't really know what majors i would find interesting.....in terms of salary, job placement, eventual job hours....what are the best majors (i know many people are doing finance/consulting --> i-banking)

i am considering finance with a minor in actuarial math...does anyone know about minors in actuarial science

how would YOU rank the majors in wharton based on eventual jobs/salaries?

I'm not gonna get into ranks, but I can tell you it is easy to do different concentrations (Wharton doesn't have any majors). It's just four classes.

can someone give me some sort of rank.....if you personally were going to wharton for undergrad....what would be your concentration/major/minor

Something ridiculous like 90% of Wharton students concentrate in one of three: finance, management and marketing, with 75% or so in finance alone. Odds are you'll fall into one of those just like everyone else. Honestly, those 3 are the best options for a first concentration, because you'll have a hard time finding enough classes in the other areas.

And Sachmoney's right. It's 4 classes. It won't decide your career. Ranking them is stupid, because you can't compare them. They're different subjects.

Finance, OPIM, and Stat ftw

Worry about this in 2-3 years. Honestly. You'll figure out what you like from the core and other requirements.

And why minor in actuarial math when you can just concentrate in actuarial science. In my mind the actuarial science minor is really for College/Engineering ppl. If you want pure math, then minor in math and double-count Wharton classes as cognate courses.

i am considering an actuarial sci major but many people say that it is a very small department and the field is based on basically passing the exams.....so i was thinking finance..with a minor in act. sci so i could still attempt the actuarial exams (which i hear are very difficult)

I would like to pursue Business & Public Policy, but I know it is a smaller department, which would probably lead me to pick up Finance first. Even if I'm able to get my BPUB classes, I'll probably still add Finance later.

Also looking at a submatriculation to Fels, then shoot for law school. It will be fun looking at this down the road and see how much pans out for me. I may find trying to maintain a good GPA for law school just too hard and change my mind.
