Major's influence on admissions

-do they affect admissions? im sure they do since there is limited space in each.
-Is it better to choose undecided to get into a college easier? If so, will it be possible to change into the particular major soon after semester starts. And would they let you in.

I think majors affect admission decisions up to a point. Colleges want to create a well-rounded student body with different majors, but they also need to account for the fact that many student will probably change their majors once they are there. So it's hard to tell how much emphasis they put on majors, but I don't think it should be that much of an influence.
As for the benefits of going undecided, I have gotten different opinions for that. If you already have a major in mind, I think it's better to go for it, especially if it is an impacted major. They would let you in once semester starts, but it is often hard to switch into an impacted major.
All in all, I don't think it makes that big of a difference if you are applying as a specific major or as an undecided to a college. Good luck!

Depends entirely on what school you're talking about, what your strengths are, and what programs are their strongest and weakest. In general a student with a strong background and interest in a smaller major, say classics, will often be have a better chance at a school like Johns Hopkins than a pre-med student since the bar for pre-med students is obviously set very high.
Very few programs actually require you declare a major and apply for it officially, these are usually engineering programs at universities.

Since the pre-med could major in classics, that's not a very good comparison.

I think if you apply to a less popular major, it will only help if you have the background to back it up. If your transcript indicates that it's something you've been interested in and pursued, then maybe.

If your transcript/activities are very bio-heavy and then you apply saying you want to be a Philosophy major, they might wonder how sincere you are.
