Majors

For UC schools, will choosing an easier major allow a better chance for a person to get into the college? or do schools look at academics first before accpeting you to your major.

anyone? does choosing a less popular major = greater chance of being accepted to that school?

I'm guessing no, because universities know that the majority of students will change their major at some point during the first two years of undergrad. The major you write on the application would determine which faculty you are admitted to, but beyond that, I don't think the major you affect whether you are admitted/rejected. I have read, however, of people that have selected a less popular major, and had the ECs to back up their interest in that area; in those cases, it could help tip the decision in your favour.
