Does anybody know, especially those at the academy, what the hardest majors are? I was looking over on the USNA forum and saw that some of the majors that I’m looking at (electrical engineering, aeronautical engineering) are some of the hardest.

While it varies on an individual basis, it's a general concensus that the engineering majors are the hardest, with astro tending to be at the top of this list.

How about the meteorology major? Does any of the current cadets or those more informed know how this major stacks up in difficulty?

Pick a major because you'll enjoy it and are interested in it, not because it's easy. Trust me, you'll have an easier time with a hard major that you like than a simple one that you despise.

Electrical engineering for the win.

It sounds like just about any technical major is going to be hard. ;)

Some majors are more difficult than others, but there really aren't any "easy" majors. And regardless of what you major in, you will have a ton of core classes to take in nearly every course you can imagine. As TN mentioned, pick a major you LIKE, otherwise you'll be miserable.

what are you good at? If I were a humanities major I would die. But I know some people who could not survive engineering and are great at fuzzy stuff. It's all relative.

Do not pick/not pick a major because of it's supposed difficulty. It's better to go for what you want to do, and then if you find out THEN that's it's too hard/you dont like it/you like something else better, you can switch.

I know not to pick a major based on whether it is easy or hard, I just wanted to know what I was going to be up against.
