majors?

is there a communication major at GT or a journalism major? or a minor? is GT only about finances and politics? can someone give some detailed infos about the majors, minors and academics? thank you!

It’s all on their web page, here’s a good place to start: [Georgetown University: Learning and Teaching](http://www.georgetown.edu/learning.html)

[Georgetown University Undergraduate Bulletin, 2008-2009](http://bulletin.georgetown.edu/)

This as welll

LaVieEnChocolat,
I thought this was one of your daughter’s first choice schools…

yes, GT is still her first choice because of SFS and the excellent location! but she will be also very interested in communication or journalism later on…

wow the above post is epic:

"she will be also very interested in communication or journalism later on… "

At this point, I am doubting whether GTown is her first choice.

^ and so what? why do you care? Necrophiliac are you the same person as Rainbsprinkles? i’m just asking a question i didn’t ask a comment on it!!!

This is a forum, which implies that comments are the standard. I am not Rainbsprinkles; I post only under my one account.

The reason I posted that comment is that I saw many circumstances where parents are not in their place with their comments and/or actions but this one statement was so revolting that it elicited the remark that I made.

Why do I care? Because parents living vicariously through their kids just happens to be my pet peeve.

necrophiliac your posts always seem so angry!

I wish I were necrophiliac, (s)he seems quite witty! I also absolutely detest over-involved parents.
I mean, I get it, you’re footing the bill, but let your kid live. :-)

parents are not running their kids lives, we get info, give it our kids and let them decide.

And you are getting this information on a predominately teenage forum? Genius.

I totally agree with necro and rainbow. Seriously, if your kid is NOT on this forum, than why should you be? That should definitely say something about your child, if they are not interested enough to get their own info, they must not care.

This thead got off topic.
Can somone answer to the extent of how good the journalism major is at Georgetown?

There is no journalism major at Georgetown; journalism is really a profession, rather than an academic discipline. A full listing of available majors can be found in the Undergraduate Bulletin: [Georgetown University Undergraduate Bulletin, 2008-2009](http://www12.georgetown.edu/undergrad/bulletin/)

There is an interdisciplinary Journalism Program that seeks to add an academic component to the practical experience students get through participation in student journalism: [Georgetown Journalism](http://journalism.georgetown.edu/)
