I know that I still have a month to make a decision as to where I will attend college but I am so overwhelmed. How do I even go about making a decision?!?!?!?! I have completely changed my mind on which colleges I think I want to attend from last year which is scary.

Has anyone on here had or having to decide between UChicago, UVA, and Vanderbilt??

No bad choices here. Have you visited? All three schools have very different cultures/vibes. Are they financially comparable and does that matter to your family? What do you plan to study? What were your selection criteria in applying to these schools? What do you see as the pros and cons?

Each of these schools is a ‘perfect fit’ for the right student, but without more information about you, what you value and what you plan to do, it’s not possible for us to say which is ‘best’ for you.

Here is some more information haha I know it was a short post:

I have not visited any of the colleges yet. I am visiting Vanderbilt and UVA this weekend and U Chicago a few weeks later.

My ex-boyfriend goes to UVA and I have heard only good things about UVA so I am excited. My family has seen Vanderbilt and I have heard only amazing things as well.
I have only heard awful things about U Chicago. So based on primary feeling, I think Im leaning toward UVA and Vanderbilt.

Financially, my parents say that they will pay for whatever college I choose so finances should not be a huge problem although I am still taking cost into my own personal considerations.

Plan to study pre-law if the schools have a program or political science and history if there is not a program.

Culture is very important to me. I am from a very culturally diverse city so I would hope that I can go to a city that also has some diversity.

A huge importance to me is that the college has a large student life. Something I have heard that U Chicago lacks

Awful things about UChicago? Really. That’s strange…I’ve heard that it has a great campus, stellar academics, terrific professors, and a great student environment…hmm.

True, UChicago doesn’t have the huge party atmosphere, and I can uderstand…academically, it is stressful. So, I guess you have a point.

I suggest UVA if you want the true college and culture, diverse mix you are looking for. It also has an excellent pre-law program. Vanderbilt has somewhat less diversity (I didn’t say none to the Vandy fans out there, I’m just saying UVA has a tad bit more )

Good luck though…those are some TERRIFIC choices…congrats! :)

Yeah I mean everyone that visited U Chicago said it was beautiful but boring and the people were weird. Obviously I will have to make my own opinion when I visit but all the people I have spoken to seem to view U Chicago negatively. Mostly I have heard that it doesnt have much of a student life and that the campus is relatively isolated from the actual city.

Does anyone know anything about the weather at the three colleges?
