Anybody going soon? We’re going next Monday!
@01kids03 We are going on 2/22. We expect that they’ll be very organized and will put together an excellent program. We are excited to see what’s in Oxford as well.
We just went to another accepted students day this weekend for school that’s also definitely a finalist and leaned lots (positives and negatives), so this is a great opportunity to contrast and compare.
We are flying in and will get to Oxford pretty late on Thursday 2/21 and we are staying Friday night in Oxford too. Any suggestions where to eat Friday night and Saturday morning?
We have an evening flight on Saturday, so we’ll probably spend Saturday afternoon trying to find something to do in Cincinnati. Thinking maybe the American Sign Museum?
Please share your thoughts once you go as you are going before us.
We are going on 3/8. A co-worker, whose son graduated a few years ago, recommended this restaurant.

I’ll let you know what we find. We are flying in and out of Detroit. First stop is going to be the U. of Toledo on Friday and then driving down to Oxford on Saturday. We have Sunday to kill and will go to Make It Miami on Monday. I was considering going to a U. Cinci men’s basketball game on Sunday. I think Miami is away. We will go to Make it Miami on Monday and then drive up to Michigan on Monday evening/night. We are going to stay in Hillsdale…to visit my nephew. He’s a sophomore at Hillsdale College. We’ll make our way back to near the airport on Tuesday evening and fly home on Wednesday.
Miami mom here. You will love Miami. Here is a must do:
Go Uptown and eat at Bagel & Deli. Late night or for lunch. This is iconic Miami University. Seriously. You must must must go to Bagel and Deli.
Other good restaurants include Mac and Joes for good bar food, or Mia for upscale. But, I wouldn’t do upscale unless you are celebrating something. Seriously. This visit is about “will the student fall in love with Miami?” And. That’s why you must must go to Bagel and Deli.
For breakfast, go Uptown and grab a chai scone and coffee from Kofenya.
PS.
It’s not a Bagel and cream cheese place. It’s a sandwich place. And, your student might as well start their journey into their 80-sandwich B&D t-shirt quest. Ask about it.
I posted on the other Make it Miami thread, but my son loved it. I think it is #1 or #2 on his list right now.
