Makeup...

Girls,

Wear it? Don't wear it? Think it looks bad? I've been experimenting lately (summer!) and I think I look a bit better with it on, but it's pretty subtle hmm. Any of you "au naturale" beauties care to disagree? Right now I'm playing around with CoverGirl mascara (Professional All-in-One), CoverGirl eyeshadow (country woods quad), and Lancome blush (Blush Subtil in Aplum-heckaa expensive but my sister bought it for me). What do you use? If I can pull it off, I intend to use all drugstore makeup from now on.

And if you haven't already seen it, makeupalley.com is the best site ever. :)

I just wear a little--no eye make-up for me...it's a mess if and when it smears.

eyeliner: sometimes
mascara: never
lipstick: never
lipgloss: sometimes
chapstick: always
blush: rarely
foundation: no
eyeshadow: a couple times per month

oooh chapstick lol; i am COMPLETELY dependent on the stuff. i get the cheap drugstore "ChapStick" brand. and constantly lose it...Eyeliner sort of scares me though, especially if you put it on the lower lid.

^ yeah, it looks weird on the lower lid. i sometimes put a tiny bit on the upper lid, though. i never overdo it

I'm Asian so I have those horrendously short eyelashes. I always wear mascara. I usually wear eyeliner (to make my eyes look bigger) and occasionally eye shadow for the same effect.

That's about all though.
It's all about matching colors and effects.

I think it looks pretty, as long as you don't wear pounds of foundation and eye crap like most girls at my school do. It's okay to wear makeup, just wear it correctly so it still looks natural.

yeah. I hate caked on foundation...

For everyday I use
-tinted moisturizer
-sometimes a little really light natural blush
-eyeliner (top lid only)
-eyelash curler (they're already long)
-tinted chapstick or just some vaseline

Fo going out I use:
-bare minerals powder foundation
-same blush
-eyeliner (top only)
-maybe some mascara before the eyelash curler
-eyeshadow
-lipstain+gloss

I only wear enough makeup to say i'm wearing makeup when it's like a party or a special occasion or something and even than its minimal (mascara, maybe some eyeliner or eyeshadow, some blush).

I'm totally "natural" though. I go with CHAPSTICK all the time and instead of mascara, I use vaseline a lot (just put a little on your eyelashes and curl them; you get the curl without the clump and it helps keep them healthy, long, and shiny). Although, I am an athlete and always doing something active so I'm totally not down with the smeared make-up all over your face look. Maybe that's why I don't wear much...that and why wake up earlier than you have to before school?

oh and for eyeliner on the lower lids, I think that looks more natural than upper lids if you do it correctly. For instance, when ever I wear it I use brown (I'm a pretty dark-skinned Italian) and you put it on from the outside to about half-way. I think it looks pretty good and you don't look like a corpse like some people. Just don't use black (unless your REALLY dark-skinned like African American or something) (remember; there's dark brown, light brown, gray, etc) and don't put it on your whole eyelid.

If you really want to get WIDE eyes, I hear (since I'm just blessed with big eyes lol I havent done it) that white eyeliner works good.

Yeah, I'm not really a make-up sort of person. Sometimes I wear a bit of lip gloss, but that's pretty much it. My father works in the cosmetic industry and as a little kid anything related to my father's work was equated with extremely boring, so I never really got into wearing it. Also, it's a bit of a hassle to do, really (I've done my make-up for prom, graduation, etc.). I do look a bit better with it on, however, (I think) so I might get used to wearing a bit of eye makeup in college or something as part of my "new look." But yeah, nothing too extreme. I personally think subtle make-up that accentuates one's natural features looks best.

I think makeup is fine as long as you can't tell at a glance that the person is wearing it. If it looks unnatural, then it's no good, in my book.

I normally only wear serious makeup (blush, eye shadow, mascara, various powdery substances) onstage. (We wear normal cosmetics, not stage makeup, on my school's stage.) I sometimes think I look better, in some regards, with it on, but I always have to get somebody to put it on for me because I'm pretty clueless about most of it. :p

Normally (everywhere but onstage) I just wear:
- a tiny bit of concealer
- powder foundation (used to use liquid, but took too long to apply)
- sometimes bronzer--though I think I just mean the darker powder that my darker-skinned mom rejected and gave to me. I use it when I feel pale and pallid.
- lip balm--I can't stand the drugstore/ChapStick variety, so I always use the $3-per-tube Burt's Bees or Naked Bee (delicious!!!) stuff.

On weekends, holidays, a few school days, and almost every day that I don't go out in public, I don't wear any makeup at all. Just lip balm, which is more a necessity than a cosmetic.

I really don't need mascara or eyeliner or tint for my lips. People think I'm wearing lipstick when all I've done is put on clear lip balm. :p People also think I bleach, dye, or streak my hair, but I don't do any of that. I don't do anything to my hair except wash it, brush it, put it in braids to sleep in, and once in a while hack it off, though I haven't paid for a haircut since 4th grade (though I didn't personally pay for it then). Actually, between now and age 9 I've only gotten my hair cut twice. :D

Anyway... yep. I don't bother much with my appearance.

i love Burts Bees

My eyelashes are blond, so I wear mascara. But, I only apply enough so it looks as though I have eyelashes. I don't overdo it.

I put on moisturizer with sunscreen in it... because I burn EXTREMELY easily. It's kind of sad =)

I also put on chapstick. Burt's Bees = awesomosity.

I occasionally put on some light eyeshadow to make my eyes look bigger. Buuuuut... that's about it.

I don't like to look as though I'm wearing make-up... I want to look natural. There are some girls at my school that are absolutely COVERED in make-up, and I can't help but wonder what they actually look like beneath all those layers.

Yeah, this one girl at my school wears all of this foundation and bronzer...her face is ORANGE all the time!!

Some girls look amazing naturally (better without makeup), some girls shouldn't leave the house without it.

Just giving it to you straight =P

I apply Burt's Bees, but that's really it. I rarely wear makeup. It feels heavy and I feel uncomfortable for some reason. I'll apply at least some for dances (homecoming, prom, etc.) but other than that no.

People tend to look fine without it, in my opinion. If you meet someone without wearing makeup, then it seems more appealing then seeing them again without their makeup when you had originally seen them with makeup. If you understand what I mean.

I use only eye makeup, eyeliner, eyeshadow, and mascara. I have small eyes, but they're a nice color, so I try to emphasize them.

During school I wear it, or when I go to the movies. I don't put it on if I'm just going to buy groceries or going out with my dogs. I also try not to put it on when it gets humid out (like it is now here) because it'll run.

I have a friend who I guess always wears makeup... one day she came into the bathroom at school and looked in the mirror and was like "  UGHHHHH!!! OH GOD I LOOK TERRIBLE, I should NEVER leave the house without makeup! But I lost my g*****ed makeup kit yesterday...." and I just stared at her and couldn't tell the difference between how she looked that day and how she usually looks... but of course she didn't listen to me when I told her she looked okay. She's envious of me for my hair (she's got curly red hair--I think it's beautiful) so she's always like "Well, that's fine for YOU to say, but *I..." :p

Ah, well.

I usually only wear some mascara. I don't wear eye liner because my eyes are big enough already (not wierdly hige but you get my point) And I usually don't weat eye shadow unless I have an outfit that it might look good with.

I also wear some cover up if I have like a zit or something, but other then that I only wear a little blush.
