im in the process of making a tennis club in my school. basically so the tennis players can practice in the fall before the season. usually we don't practice before the season. if somehow im not allowed to make the club in school, i'll still make the club, but it'll be outside of school. but would it be worth anything on the application? also, i play tennis on the team and also outside of school. so how do i put that on the app? as two separate entries? how do i determine the hours?

Sure, it’s worth putting down. But this tennis club should be something substantial. It shouldn’t be just a get-together with your friends to play tennis. Not much of a club, and if it is a get-together, then colleges will see right through and think you’re doing this just to impress colleges. Yes, I’d put the club and team as two separate entries.

well, what if i explain the club in the ec section? because the tennis team isnt allowed to practice in the fall at school for some reason. so basically everyone on the team doesnt practice before the season and gets a bit worse before the season. so the people in the tennis club would get together and practice in the fall.

It’s still doesn’t sound that significant to me. The tennis club, as you say, is just a way to get people to practice in the fall, when otherwise there would be no practice. Put that down – it’s fine just as it is.

so i shouldnt explain it on the app? what if my coach says i can make the club and he is the sponsor. then would i put it as the same section as the tennis team?

also what if it is really organized, with officers and tournaments and stuff like that? if its serious, is there any way for the colleges to know?
