After lurking on this forum for a while, I'm hoping to catch a bit of the collective wisdom of the posters here for myself.

In high school, I had a lot of potential, but did pretty mediocre academically (2.7 GPA). I was, however, involved in a few activities (Concert, Jazz, and Marching band, my church's youth ministry group) and took AP Calc and passed the exam with a 5. I also managed to pull a 33 on the ACT.

Unfortunetly, when I started out at the nearest CC, I managed to do even worse academically. I was, admittedly, not nearly as motivated as I should have been, and ended up on academic suspension a couple times, until the point where I just took a couple years off from college. For what it's worth (And I imagine it's not much), I was still involved with some activities there as well, mainly theater.

During those couple years off, I managed to get myself sorted out a bit, get more focused on what's important. I started this last summer semester at the local CC, took 6 credits and got a 4.0 GPA. I'm currently on track to maintain that in the current semester as well, with 18 credits. After that, I'll be taking 14 credits spring semester, at which point I'll have an AA from here (And hopefully a 4.0 GPA still.) The community college I'm at right now does not have a lot in the way of clubs and activities available, unfortunately, but I have been active in PTK.

Long story short, my goal is to transfer to a four-year college and finish up a bachelor's degree once I'm done here, and I was hoping to get some opinions on if I have a shot of having some nicer schools even look at me... is my earlier performance gonna be a deal-killer, or do you think any of them will give me a shot given my recent turnaround?
