How do you make a resume without much experience? I've been browsing through examples of what other people's resumes might look like, and these pages are filled from top to bottom with very impressive looking experience. What if I'm trying to make a resume of my own, but don't have this sort of experience, or any if all? Does the experience that one gets in high school get thrown out the window once he reaches college?

I’m curious about this too.

I am definitely going to have to find a job in the fall. The university gave me $3500 for the year in work-study, so I’m heavily relying on that so that I don’t take out any student loans.

But I never had a job in high school, aside from working in my parents law office on and off. And I’m very doubtful that I’ll be able to find any law office jobs in Columbia, because of the law school there and I’m also not pre-law either.

How do you convince someone to hire you when you have zero experience?

Ah this is a tricky thing…the best thing I can think of is to use volunteer time…if you have any. If not then volunteering can be a good way to get some resume material…however you don’t get paid for volunteering so…yeah. Normally when you get hired with zero experience its for a minimum wage job which I have never needed a formal resume for. Like I said use volunteer hours if you have them.
