Hi everyone,
I understand that once you submit the CSS Profile, you cannot make changes to it: if we want to make changes we must print out the summary form, make our corrections and fax/email/mail… but I am unclear about where we send it to. Websites say we send it to “your school’s financial aid office,” do they mean all of the colleges we applied to? Or do we give it to our high school’s financial aid office and they will deal with it on their own accord?
Also, do I only send the page with my corrections? I only needed to make one small change on one page, so I don’t know whether it’s necessary to send the ENTIRE financial aid application again.
Please reply ASAP, and thank you!
You have to send it to all the colleges you sent the CSS to, not to your high school.
You can just send the updated items, not the entire form.
What are you correcting?
You need to call EACH college and find out how that college handles changes in the Profile. Here are the options we know about…
- Do nothing. The school will make income corrections based on the FAFSA info which is imported directly from the IRS data retrieval tool.
- If school uses IDOC, all info will be received via IDOC, so do nothing additional. Just get your IFOC stuff done.
- Print out and write in corrections. If this is the option...you send directly to EACH college requiring this option.
- Send supporting documents for your changes. Again..if this is the option...you send directly to the colleges. Each one.
Just make sure you do what each college asks. Since this will vary by school…don’t assume that they all want a printed out form with corrections written on. Fo what each school says to do.
