My son attended FASET 1 last week and came home with a schedule that is awful. He has the classes he needs, but the times stink. He begins class at 8:00 AM and is in class until 6:00 PM every day, including Fridays. What are the chances he will be able to do some drop/add once school begins so that he can get better class times? The two classes that are late in the day are Calc I and the Friday evening class is Chem I lab. He was not allowed to make any changes to those two classes during FASET registration because all sections were full. We were told by several people that the earlier FASET sessions gave you a better chance of getting a good schedule. If that is true, I feel sorry for the kids who are attending later sessions. Also, if he can't get anything changed, what time do the dining halls stop serving dinner? Will he make it back from class in time to eat?

Dining halls close at 10 PM. Currently, registration is open (for me at least... IDK if it is for incoming frosh). So, tell him to go to https://oscar.gatech.edu/pls/bprod/twbkwbis.P_ValLogin login w/ his GTID number, which is printed on his buzzcard, and password (which i believe is originally his birthday if he hasn't changed it). Then go to Student Services and Financial Aid>Registration>Add and Drop Classes

Then, look through the options... chem still has some labs open, so he should be able to switch... may require a switch in class section, though. Oh, when you sign up for Chem 1310, you have to pick a lab with the same sec letter in front of a number (so, if you're in chem1310 "A", you pick A1, A2, A3, etc.. for the 0.0 credit selections) So pick two checkmarks in Chem 1310.

Math 1501 (Calc I) still has sections open. You only have to pick one checkmark for that one, but there will be ttwo times listed: one for lecture, the other for recitation.

If it's not open, which I believe it will be, then there will be one more Phase III registration during the first week of classes. I hope I was of help to you!

It was my understanding at FASET that he would not be able to make any changes to his schedule until Aug. 14, which is the day freshmen are scheduled to move in to the dorms. We will try changing it now. Thanks for the info.

Thats engineering for you, good luck to your son
