Making friends at Haverford

So I visited Haverford a few days ago and I love the friendly vibe of the school, the campus, and also the Honor Code. Nonetheless I couldn't help but noticed how small the student body was. Being an international student (from China) I also noticed there weren't a lot of overseas students on campus. Do international students have a hard time integrating into campus life? And how do you like the small student body? Do you ever wish there were more students on campus? Thanks in advance!

I think there is an international students’ organization. You can probably find a contact email on the Hc website if you look under student organizations. If this is an issue, e-mail the admissions’ office and ask for a contact. If you ever felt the student body is too small, there is always bryn mawr and philadelphia for your wanderlust… or NYC for a weekend escape too.

I don’t think so. Or at least, I’ve never met one who had a hard time.
At least none of the roommates I have from overseas (2 from China… if you count Hong Kong) or other friends I have from overseas don’t have any problem.
Also, if you join ASA you’re adopting a whole family. >_< (asian students association)
You’ll also have you customs group which will be there for you.
In my experience, they’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and welcome you with wide open arms unless you personally do something to push them away.
I do feel the student body is small though but I like that.
I still meet new people but it’s not overwhelming for me.
There is also ISA which will always be there for you and will take you shopping for a fluffy jacket if you didn’t realize how crazy cold winter is and will also have get together in general.
