making friends

im moving schools.
how do you make new friends? like what would you say to them and how would you approach them?

leaving the house helps

Smile all the time and say hi to people, and they will want to talk to you.

Haha, yeah leaving the house does help a lot. Don’t judge people automatically, thats the biggest thing.

Just be cool and you’ll eventually be friends. Finding a table in lunch will be hard on the first day… it’ll suck,

It’ll probably come naturally…
Just talk to someone in your classes before lunch. (Made 1 friend)
Ask to join them during lunch because you’re new. (Made 10 friends)

I moved as a sophomore 2 yrs ago. I hung out with this asian guy and by the end of the 1st day I had like 8 friends.

Making fiends, making fiends, Vendetta’s always making fiends, making fiends while Charlotte makes friends.

Anyway, just talk to someone, then join them at lunch. No big.

The same way you made friends at your to-be former school.

If it’s high school and you play a fall sport, then you usually make a lot of friends during tryouts.

For some people, it is.

But what if s/he didn’t have any?

But yeah, I essentially agree with Millancad. Talk to someone, or a few people, and branch out from there. It’s all about connecting the dots, dude(tte). If you’re not really into friend-making, it may be difficult, but you’ve got to start somewhere.

Walk in to first period, find someone who looks alone and ask them if you can sit next to them. Then introduce yourself. (: That’s how I became friends with the new girl in my english class last year.

The term “new friends” would suggest otherwise, although that can be interpreted two ways.

Dress nicely. Clean clothes. Nobody wants to be friends with a dirty person, because they will stereotype you as a druggie.
If you are a girl, wear a nice skirt or casual sundress with a necklace or bracelet.
If you are a guy, clean jeans and t-shirt will do. Ties or dress shirts are excessive.

^ Kind of sounds like that would only apply if you go to a nicer school.

At an inner-city public school (or, I would think, at most public schools), dress however you want.
Pajamas are discouraged, but tolerated.

Have you ever been to an inner-city public school? Even there, hidden dress codes abound.

I’d follow the advice in the previous posts, but as important as it is to meet and spend time with people in your new school, you MUST make sure you’re spending time with people you actually see yourself befriending.
