Hi everyone!!

I was accepted to the "Making it On Broadway" summer intensive in NYC. The website looks great, but I want to see if the program is as great as they make it sound. Especially for the price! Does anyone have any firsthand information on it? Anything would be great! Thanks!

My D did it twice. Really enjoyed it and learned a lot. Building your book with Jody was the best part of it. They work with you to figure out what works best with your voice and the songs are not overdone songs. That was actually great preparation for colloge auditions.

But she really enjoyed the master classes and acting classes as well. In fact, one of the monologues (also not overdone) she got in their acting class was what she used for her college auditions. And she got many comments that they’d never heard of it before.

She’s been accepted to one BFA program and is deferred for several others. I think she would say that MIOB gave her a great foundation for auditions in general and MTCA polished it for the college audition process.

The other part of the program was that she developed friendships with other students (one is now on Broadway) and got to know many working professionals. Enjoy. It’s a worthwhile program.

Wow!! I can’t believe that all happened in one week!!

Also, is it just mostly high school students that attend or are there others? I really like how they work with you to find things that suit your particular voice. That would be great for me since I am having trouble finding music that fits modern broadway. I have more of an old style classical musical theater voice.

Could you also tell me about the class sizes and about the amount of individual attention each student got?

I’m glad she had such a great experience!

My D has been to this camp 5 or 6 years in a row! Its the best experience you get to work with amazing people. You learn so much just about how to audition. It is a great experience! Go if you really want to!Its a great program and congrats on getting in!
