making my reach schools target schools

honestly, i did crap junior year, my gpa falls .3-.4 below the avg of my reach. i'm hoping to close the gap to .2 to 0 by the time i send in apps, do you think colleges will i guess, 'forgive' my junior year or ..not?

most colleges look at your junior year GPA and course difficulty exclusively. if your SAT scores and senior year grades are good, colleges might not penalize you for your bad marks.

Freshmen year isn't looked at too closely but JUNIOR year is supposedly the most important year of high school. They're expecting you to be well adjusted by now and to demonstrate your true potential, so that drop in your junior year may hurt you. On the other hand, junior year is also the hardest (usually) and if you can show improvement in your grades, the damage might not be too bad.
