Making National Merit Semi-Finalist

Does anyone in here have an idea of what score I would need to make national merit semi-finalist in North Carolina?

usually 200+, 210 is competetive enough for national.

this post belongs in the test forum http://talk.collegeconfidential.com...display.php?f=9

i don't think collegeboard/states release that info though? i could be wrong

all the finalists in class of 2006 that i know of got at least 205... 195 might be able to get you into semi-final.

What do you think that 232 will get me?

If your score is 200 or above you will at least be commended. Semi-finalists vary from state to state. The cutoff scores for semi-finalists run from the lower 200s up to as high at 222. Most states cutoff scores are in the lower teens.

If you are at a boarding school your stats are not from a state but from the geographic region.....ie NE Boarding Schools.

If you're over 220, you're pretty much guaranteed to be a NMSF. If you're in the 210-220 range, there's still a chance depending on your state.

I didn't know boarding schools had a seperate stat pool, being at a public school I can't say that's true or false but it's something to keep in mind if true.
