making STUPID mistakes on tests

I just had my BC Calc. On an easy 10 point problem, I messed up a derivative (W.T.F?!) by mistake. Because of that, I got completely wrong answers.

My teacher's a hard grader, so that -5 or -6 points right there.

WHAT THE EFF?!

:(

p.s. i have a 78 average in Calc right now, and this test was my ONE CHANCE to bring up my grade. i am so frustrated with myself. WHY ME?!

Sorry dude, but it happens to the best of us. I know I’m gonna sound like a mentor but the best I can say is to learn from your mistakes and make sure you improve the next time.

Oh, and since you’re in AP you might get a higher grade due on your weighted average (my school gives 10 points for AP and 5 for honors… ridiculously high, I know).

Sorry though. :|

Hey, I have the same problem too, and it just came round to bite me in the butt again on a couple of questions on my last Calc AB test. One way to get around this is to do as many practice problems as you can. I use the PR book for Calculus as well as my regular school textbook to practice some of the questions there, and if I hadn’t done so, my grade would definitely not be what it is now, lol.

Ugh. I know how to find derivatives…it’s just a stupid error that is going to cost me. :(

UGH

Ugh, I hate making stupid mistakes too. I had a test in Precalc the other day, and I got a D on it because I made tons of mistakes.

I made a idiotic error on a multiple choice a few days ago. I found the derivative of a trignometric function properly, but brought the constant down (*** kind of error is that!)…

I would have noticed, normally, but the answer found through the constant was also on the multiple choice.

This happens a lot with me! lol. Especially with word problems. Sometimes the wording is too confusing even though the problem is pretty straightforward.
You could take you time and go through the problem a few times.

I always make stupid mistakes, too =</p>

I understand it all, but I may get some little thing messed up on accident and there goes the problem.
