Making the Final Decision

It's already the beginning of March and I'm having a really tough time choosing where I want to spend the next 4 years of my life. I've narrowed it down to 5 schools, but I can't seem to do anymore. I'm majoring in accounting and possibly finance, so I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me which school is would get me farthest in my career. I was accepted to University of Florida, Bentley College, Penn State- UP(Smeal), The College of New Jersey, and Rutgers University- New Brunswick. Bentley offered me 1/3 tuition. They also have a 5 yr program which would include my master's. Is the 5 yr program a good option or would it be better to get my bachelor's, get work experience, and then apply to grad school? Feel free to rank the five schools I have listed. Thanks!!!

I grew up around Waltham and Bentley has an excellent reputation for their accounting/business program. Have you visited? It's a real mixed sort of town.....but close to Boston.

Whatever you do, spend the night at any school you are considering strongly.

Thanks... I've been to Bentley and I liked it a lot. It just doesn't have the national reputation that a lot of the other schools do. Plus, it's going to be quite costly.

If you got 1/3 tuition at Bentley then that brings it to around $30,000 total which is what Penn State will be since you are OOS.

That's definitely true, but Penn State has a great national reputation. In fact, I believe they have the biggest alumni association. Employers love Penn State grads. Plus, there's a lot more school spirit- especially with the football team.

PSU!! PSU!! PSU!! You won't regret it. Think about how next fall you could be wearing all white under the lights of Beaver Stadium, (after having gone to see College Gameday earlier in the morning) and screaming as the JoePa leads the team on to the field to crush Notre Dame (lead by a rather plump Coach named Charlie Weiss). Think about how much energy there will be within the student section (the best in the country) as Dan Connor sacks their QB. Think of the chants of WE ARE... and the replies of PENN STATE! Think about that and tell me you don't want to go to Penn State. (oh and it has killer academics also.)

PSU > Bentley > U Florida > TCNJ > Rutgers

In my opinion, once you weigh finances and school spirit and everything. TCNJ or Rutgers would do you fine, but PSU has a great business school, and Bentley can give you a great hands-on business education.
