Making the minimum 50% of a college?

If you look at Duke University, their middle 50% is 29-34. I got a 29, so does a 29 make them look down upon me(CHECK MINUS), or something that they put a CHECK(not a CHECK PLUS) right next to? Like does a 29 just put me in a neutral spot?

i think it shows that 29 is an acceptable score. it's the 25th percentile so i think that means that 75% of Duke's freshmen scored a 29 or better of the students who actually took the ACT.

The middle 50% numbers are very helpful, but one must recognize the limitations in the statistic. For example, a school may accept a lot of people with 29s on their ACTS. The middle 50% numbers do not truly mean that 75% of enrollees received ACT test scores that exceed a 29. It simply means that 29 on the ACT was in the range that includes the 25%. We have no idea where the range begins and end.
