Making the most of summer

Hi all,

I will be gone 5 weeks out of my 7 week summer. 3 weeks is for a governor's program, 1 for a leadership training conference, and 1 for vacation. What can I do with my summer for admissions? I could probably volunteer for a week, and finish my summer assignments in a week. Any thoughts are welcome!

Nothing is going to have much significance if you only do it for a week.
What grade are you in? Do you need to study for the SAT/ACT or work on your admissions essays?

I’m a rising junior.

What do you mean by “for admissions”? You mean looking at colleges, or doing something to boost your application?
For doing something to boost your application, I think preparing for the SAT (and PSAT for National Merit, it’s in October) would be best. There’s no EC you can start and finish in a week.

I mean boost my application. All right, thanks! That’s what traveling does! lol
