Im going to visit Harvard in a couple of weeks? For all admitted/current students - what are the most important aspects of Harvard that i should check out?

Touching John Harvard’s foot.

I’d recommend both the official and the unofficial tours. They were both interesting.

The most important aspect of Harvard in my view is the interaction
that takes place within the student community focused on ECs. This is
something you are unlikely to be exposed to as a visitor. So make the
most of your visit and get a slice of some of the things students at
Harvard are likely to do:

go for a run by the side of the river, make sure you take in the
footbridge;

if you are so inclined (and know to swim) rent a kayak near the Artesani park place
and have some fun on the Charles;

check out the dismantled historic computer in the science building;

check out the libraries (Widener especially) and the art museums;

Walk all the way to the bio building at the other end of the campus (divinity ave) and
get a picture next to the rhinos;

gasp at the stained glass stuff inside Annenberg and read up ahead so you can help fellow
tourists;

…* some wierd ideas *:

cover yourself with walnuts and lie down in the grass in the middle of the yard and
say hi to the fat ninja squirrels that will introduce themselves;

gape at the antique buildings and point wildly at the roof and intently click a few
shots- now keep track of how many other tourists follow suit; try variations, keep
notes and the scientist in you alive;

and * finally *

*MAKE SURE * you do not miss BERRYLINE the fro-yo is good enough to make your
campus visit memorable!

Just don’t fall in the river like Tom Brady: [Local woman helps rescue Tom Brady from Charles River](http://www3.whdh.com/news/articles/local/BO116617/)

Do you know anyone who will be on campus? The hard thing is that some of the places you should really see (the inside of an upperclass house, Widener, etc) are pretty hard to get into if you’re not with a current student.

If you’re visiting on Monday or Wednesday, I would drop in on Computer Science 1. It’s being taught in Science Center A, a big lecture hall, so your presence wouldn’t bother anyone (ask anyone on campus for directions).: [Course Availability : Harvard Summer School](http://dceweb.harvard.edu/prod/sswckce.taf?function=search&wgrp=SUM&crn=31441&view=avail)

Haha…you know it’s a tradition for the students to go to the bathroom on the John Harvard statue, right? Like, seriously: those are all the stains on the base…

And touching it won’t necessarily get you in as legend has it. I didn’t get in. I touched it…before realizing the above :P
